1992-1999; Early Life, Audition For J-Pop[edit]

IC (Born Utada Ayumi: 宇多田あゆみ) Was Born On March 17, 1992 In Tokyo, Japan. Her Parents Said She Was Raised In A Wealthy Home, and was a very well behaved kid.

She Was Also Said To Be Smart. When She Was Just 6 She Learned How To Speak English. She Lived In The USA For A Year.

When She Was 7, She Returned To Japan And Auditioned For A New Label Starfish Entertainment. She Trained For 3 Years

She Was Supposed To Debut in 1999 But The Debut Was Pushed Back For A Year

A Year Before Her Scheduled Debut, She Released A Documentary “First Soloist Of Starfish Ent.” IC was The First Artist To Be Signed To Starfish Entertainment

2000-2002; Solo Debut, No.1, Take Back, Affection[edit]

On June 14, IC Made Her Debut With The Single 『モノクローム』The Single Sold Over 700,000 Sales In The First Month

In September IC came Back With The Song “Wa” Which Sold over 1,000,000 Sales By The End Of The Year

At The End Of 2000, IC Broke Records With Her Hit Song “TAKE BACK”

In Late 2001 She Released Her First Ever Studio Album “No.1” With The Title Track “No.1”

2002, IC released 2 Albums: Jumping Into The World, Affection.

2004, IC Went On To Promote “My Name” and went on a 11 Month Japan Dome Tour, being the youngest singer to sell out the Tokyo Dome

In 2005 She Embarked On Her First Asia Tour Going To Countries China, Korea, Japan, And The Philippines.

By The End Of 2005 IC has Became The Most Famous Soloist In Japan. She Made Her Korean Award Show Debut For The Very First And Last Time.

In The 2005 She Went To The Korean Music Award Show And Performed “I Do” By Rain. She Won “Best J-Pop Female Artist”

In June 22, 2006, IC along with her Best Friend Songhee debuted in J-Pop Girl Group SOULGIRLS with the song “Break It Out”

In 2006 IC releases her album “Black Cherry” and held Her First World Tour

2007 She Returned As A Soloist With The Single & Album “Love & Honesty” With The Lead Single Being “Tokyo Lover” & “Baby Don’t Cry”

in 2007 IC Saw Global Success With The Song “But” & “愛のうた” Both Songs Sold Over 10,000,000 Units At The End Of 2007.

2008-2009; Breakout, Korean Debut, TABOO, American Debut[edit]

2008 She Came Back Solo With Song “Under My Skin”. It Won Solo Song Of The Year At The Japanese Music Awards

In 2009 IC Debuted in Korea With The Single “Candy In My Ear” Featuring K-Pop Artist “KI.SS” of boy group “G.A.N.G”

2009 IC came back to Japan with a Bang. She Released one Of Her Biggest Hits “Taboo”. She Performed The Song At The Japanese Music Awards. It Was The Most Watched J-Pop Performance Of 2009.

December 1st She Released Her Comeback Album “Trick”

In September 11, 2013, IC released her 2nd Cover Album, “~Cover~”. With Lead Singles 『ピンクスパイダー』、 『Shake Hip』、 & 『情熱』

July 7, 2013; IC Made A Legendary Comeback With The Song “24 Hours”, The Music Video Reached 24,000,000 Views In The First Day, And Made It To 100,000,000 Views By August.

Also In 2013 Redness Had A Comeback. “Now” it was the biggest hit in 2013. They were even crowned at the “Asian Music Awards” best duo performance.

In 2014 She Releases Her Album “On The Run” With single “PART II On The Run”

In Summer 2019 she went on her 5th Japanese Tour and was due to go onto do 3 more shows in 2020 but cancelled the rest because of the death of Songhee and her major depression at the time

2019 they came back with final comeback as 4 before Songhee Passed Away

August 2020 She Made Her 2nd Solo Comeback With The Song “Dreamed A Dream”

2022, IC Made Her Comeback To Music With Song Titled “Monster” which is a solo version of the song she made in the SUPERSTARS subunit during SOULGIRLS hiatus

2022 IC Announced She would headline the 2022 Asian Music Awards, It was her most iconic show since the Asian Music Awards Performances of 2012, 2013, and 2014. In The Show SOULGIRLS Reunited

January, 21, She Announced She Will Be Going On Her 6th Japan Tour In Spring 2023 Starting April 8th, 2023. March 21st 2023 It Was Announced The 6th Japan Tour Has Been Officially Cancelled.

After 3 Months Of Releasing Nothing She Dropped Her 5th Japanese Mini Album Titled 「モリアパ」 on January 25, 2023.

When A Fan Asked Her Why The Music Video Was Low Quality, she replied:

「ミュージックビデオが低品質である理由は、2009年10月1日に撮影されたからです。それは私のソロデビューのはずだったが、スキャンダルが起こった後、私たちはそれを2010年に押し戻さなければならなかった。リッチフライデーから追い出されたら、私は歌の権利のために戦っていました。彼らは私に権利を与えなかったので、私は「スキン」をソロデビューにしなければならなかった。しかし今、私はついに曲をタイトルにする権利を持ち、それをリリースしました。私のアルバムがもうすぐ来ることを覚えておいてください。」

2 Days After It Was Revealed She Just Received rights to the song as she recorded the song while she was in Bad Gyal Entertainment, which was over 14 Years Ago.

IC’s Former Subunit “JPNSN” had a comeback after 9 Years with song “HMPH”, they performed the song at the Japanese Music Awards

IC Teased the lead single to her 35th album “la maison” the lead single will be a song titled “HyperBallad” She Revealed She Will Be Promoting This Album Very Hard

She Also Revealed That her 2nd 12 single project will be returning in summer 2023. it will be her first 12 single project since 2005
