History[edit]

Second logo of MNC Business (25 June 2014-19 May 2015)

IDX Channel began broadcasting on 29 September 2010 as MNC Business by the CEO of MNC Hary Tanoesoedibjo. Hary said that the channel's emerging was motivated by Indonesian business and economy-related news reliance from foreign news channels such as CNN International and has not been accommodated by any domestic channel.[2] At the time, it was available on pay television providers Indovision, Top TV, and OkeVision (both of these are former name of MNC Vision); all of which are owned by MNC.

On 10 August 2015, MNC Business changed its name to iBCM Channel (short for Indonesia Business and Capital Market Channel), this time MNC partnered with Indonesia Stock Exchange. Launched to coincide with the 38th anniversary of the reopening of Indonesian stock exchange, it would initially aired for 10 hours per day. MNC Media News Director Arya Sinulingga told that the channel would also "broadcast in other countries".[3]

Since 18 April 2016, iBCM Channel changed its name again to IDX Channel.
