The iPhone 17 series, speculated for release in September 2025, will become Apple’s latest generation of smartphones featuring multiple models with notable design and performance upgrades and changes. The lineup includes is rumoured to include the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The "Plus" variant is expected to have been discontinued due to limited consumer interest.[1][2]
Design
iPhone 17
Retains a similar design to its predecessor with a 6.3-inch display and a vertically arranged dual rear camera setup. Available in multiple colors including black, white, steel gray, light blue, green, and purple.[1]
iPhone 17 Air
Introduced as a thinner model with a 6.6-inch display. Features a single 48-megapixel rear camera and a new aluminum-and-glass rear panel, replacing the previous titanium build.[3][1]
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max
The Pro features a 6.3-inch display while the Pro Max offers a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models showcase a redesigned rectangular rear camera module with curved edges. Color options include black, white, gray, dark blue, and orange.[3][4]
Display and Performance
All models feature ProMotion displays for smoother visuals, with the Pro and Pro Max adding Always-On display functionality. Performance improvements come with the introduction of the A19 Pro chipset and up to 12GB of RAM in Pro models. According to reports, the Air variant includes an Apple-designed modem and supports Wi-Fi 7.[1][4]
