Services[edit]

CIAM[edit]

iWelcome is a provider of Customer Identity and Access Management solutions. The software developed from a regular IDaaS to CIAM by integrating consumer oriented portal functions. This allows consumers to make use of Social login to enterprise portals using their Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn social accounts (amongst others). For the Dutch market iWelcome also provides federated access to the CIAM platform using the DigiD Dutch citizen digital identity.

Integration to enterprise websites, portals and platforms is done via modern federation protocols such as SAML, OAuth and OpenID Connect. iWelcome offers a fully Kantara Initiative compliant SAML integration.

A USP of iWelcome is that the company is a European CIAM service provider. As such it offers added value for organizations who, because of stringent privacy regulations such as the GDPR, are looking for a non-US based CIAM solution, to prevent storing personal data (like consumer data) outside the boundaries of the EU.

Well-known competitors of iWelcome are Gigya, Okta, Janrain, Ping, ForgeRock[5]

iWelcome is positioned in both Gartner's Magic Quadrant[6] and KuppingerCole's Leadership Compass [7] and the company is Innovation leader in the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass [8]. Forrester Research rated the company as a leader in the Zero Trust area.[9].

Users of iWelcome customers can use the iWelcome Authenticator TOTP app, that's available for Android "iWelcome Authenticator app for Android". and iPhone "iWelcome Authenticator app for iPhone".. The authenticator provides limited, time based One Time Password (TOTP), multifactor authentication. In 2019 iWelcome bought Unloq, the Romanian developer of the passwordless authentication app.

GDPR and consent management[edit]

The CIAM service contains a GDPR compliant consent management management service and CRM oriented information gathering services. Together with digi.me iWelcome was the launching partner of the Kantara Initiative Consent Management Solutions Work Group, with the goal to create open, interoperable standards and certification for consent management during the customer lifecycle journey. [10]. iWelcome is leading the Kantara CMS Working Group. [11]

Other services[edit]

Next to offering CIAM and IDaaS solutions, iWelcome also acts as an official Dutch Government eHerkenning (eRecognition) [12] and as an officiel EU certified eIDAS digital identity broker[13]

Technical specs[edit]

iWelcome delivers its software service in a multi-tenant service model: every customer has its own instance of the CIAM software stack and database. In the deployment model different versions of the software are supported to enable a gradient delivery across the customer base.

The iWelcome software stack is built around different Open source products, such as OpenAM, MongoDB and Kibana.

For hosting of the different cloud tenants, the company makes use of the Interoute datacenters (part of GTT) in Europe:[14]

Company[edit]

iWelcome is a privately owned company.
