Iacob Coman is a Romanian theologian, poet, and painter.[1]
He formerly served as a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, where he was known for his online sermons with significant followings. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania, he held a Holy Supper service despite government restrictions on public gatherings. As a result, the South Transylvania Conference suspended his pastoral rights for 60 days.[2] Because of this and other disagreements with the church, he left and founded the Biserica Adventă Biblică (Biblical Advent Church), where he serves as a priest.[3]
He has also served as an associate professor at the Theological Institute in Bucharest.[4] In 2011, while at the institute, he edited Priesthood in the Evangelical and Orthodox Traditions: A Comparative Study, which examined concepts of priesthood from biblical, Orthodox, Evangelical, and Pentecostal perspectives.[5]
In May 2025, the Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca held a showing of his works titled CONTRA-DICTIONS, showcasing his abstract-figurative style exploring spiritual and existential themes.[1]
