Ian Bevis (born 3rd July 1976) is a British [Entrepreneur] who formed in Birmingham Chameleon Web Services in 2001 to open a number of agencies across the UK in key locations including London.
Family and early life[edit]
Born in Harborne, Birmingham began working life with the local milkman at an early age. His father a manager at Cadburys in Bournville until retirement early retirement at the age of 50.
Attended Shenley Court School in Northfield and assisted the ITC Department of the school with networking an IT security at the age of 14 and began building computers for family members and friends. He created relationships with supplies of computer components and developed a business to be called Bevstar Computer Solutions providing computers and IT support to members of the public and local small businesses.
Bevis started karting at the age of 11 and moved to drive Rotax Max karts in karting leagues and competitions across the UK before starting a scholarship within the British Touring Car Championship series with Vauxhall driving the Vectra in a scheme run by Tim Sugden.
Early career[edit]
Bevis completed a 4-year Technical Mechanical and Electrical Apprenticeship at Rover Group after leaving school and continued working in Engineering for many years which included working at BMW manufacturing plants in Germany and Austria. He spent time in Munich at BMW and became a lead technical consultant for the 4 Cylinder engine plant built in Coleshill, Birmingham which became Plant Hams Hall. He managed the maintenance contracts of the plant also involved in predictive maintenance solutions which became adapted in BMW plant Oxford.
Ian moved from Engineering to IT still working for BMW and became the technical lead for Antivirus across the globe before leaving the company to focus on the Chameleon business.
Personal Life[edit]
Ian got married in 2006 to his wife Emma a former Directors secretary at Rover Group and has two sons. The couple live in Bartley Green, Birmingham. He is a supporter of Aston Villa.
Chameleon Web Services[edit]
Ian founded Chameleon Web Services in 2001. The company began as a general web development company but soon specialised in Digital Marketing. By 2007 the company portfolio included companies such as Endemol and was providing services to businesses across the globe. In 2014 Chameleon won the Google global award for "Best Use Of Google Maps APi" following work carried out for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. taking 360 degrees photography for Google Street View to include an overlaid menu structure allowing navigation of the entire stadium with key historical areas as hot spots on a virtual tour. In 2016 Chameleon was a runner up in the Football Ball Business Awards for "Best / Most Innovative use of Technology by a Club" and was now working with Aston Villa F.C., Birmingham City F.C. and West Bromwich Albion F.C. taking photography and websites to new technological places.
Chameleon is recomended for many industry awards [1][2][3] and wins various awards including [4] SME UK Enterprise Award Best Cost Effective SME Internet Solutions 2018 – Birmingham
