Ibn Makânis

Ibn Makânis (745/1345–794/1392), was one of the most significant Arabian poets who lived in Mamluk period. His whole name was Abu’l-Facac Fahr al-Din Abd al-Rahman b. Abd al-Razzaq b. Ibrahim al-Qibti al-Misri. Ibn Makânis, a member of a Christian Coptic family, has an ironic didactic urdjûza poem that deals with how to behave in society.[1]
