Ibrahim Osman Afrah, also known as Ibraahin-Nolosha or Nolosha, is a Somali author, poet, and songwriter.[1] He wrote two books and some noteworthy songs.

Biography[edit]

Ibraahin-Nolosha is a Somali author and poet. He was born in 1993 in Moqokori, Hiran, Somalia He has written two books: Jamashada Haweenka (2017),[2] which is about dating, and MIID (2021), which is a collection of his quotes and wisdom. He is known for his creative and critical style of writing, as well as his patriotic and cultural themes. On November 26, 2021, Ibraahin-Nolosha commemorated the passing of Jiim Sheikh Muumin, the renowned Somali oud maestro and composer.[3][4]

He has made notable contributions as a songwriter, particularly for the Somali military. His song "Difaac Iyo Dagaal,"[5] created in 2017, gained popularity and is often used during military training. Additionally, he composed the song "Hooyo,"[6] which is distinct for being sung without music. These songs not only reflect his creative talents but also his engagement with themes of national significance.

Early life[edit]

Ibrahim Nolosha grew up in Moqokori, a district located in the Hiran region. Both his father and mother are from the Hawadle clan. He attended high school in Beledweyne, specifically at Mujamac Dhayba. He pursued Development Studies at Amoud University in Borama from 2016 to 2020. Towards the end of 2020, Ibrahim moved to Mogadishu and settled there.
