Idein Ventures is a venture capital and private equity[2] firm based in UAE,[3] active from the year 2015.[4]

Idein Ventures was founded by US based solution architect Mahesh Vellaboyina,[5] serial entrepreneur Ashwin Srivastava[6][7][8] and UAE based technopreneur Rajeshwar Prasad. It is reported to be an international investor upbeat on Indian startups.[9]

Rajeshwar Prasad is also an Ex-Officio Cabinet Minister in Republic of Guinea-Bissau.[10] Ashwin Srivastava was a part of Incept,[11] Tech Anipr, FindURClass, among others.[12] He is a graduate from IIT Bombay[13] and is an SME mentor and advisor.[14]

Investments[edit]

Idein Ventures invests in seed capital of startups and growth capital of companies.[15][16] Amongst its disclosed investments are, seed investment in Qriyo Infolabs Pvt Ltd,[17][18][19] seed investment in Infurnia Furnishings Pvt Ltd,[20][21][22][23] seed investment in land bank REstate,[24] two investments in construction commerce company BuildTraders.[25] Amongst its undisclosed investments are, investments in last mile delivery startup and real estate startup.[26][27]

Qriyo Infolabs is a company in the domain of fitness[28] and home learning.[29][30] In February 2016, it used the investment to launch a new program for teacher recruitment in Jodhpur, India.[31] In January 2017, it was listed as a notable startup in education sector by some media bodies.[32][33] Infurnia Furnishings is a Bangalore based technology company in the domain of virtual reality.[34][35] Its current market focus is India and Asia.[36]

Idein Ventures has also invested in ZoEasy in UAE.[37] In November 2016, it earmarked an investment fund of 500 million USD for investment in unicorn startups.[38] In January 2017, it appointed David Back, founder of Zoomcar, as its Entrepreneur in Residence.[39]
