Ievgen Knysh (born May 27, 1986) , known professionally as Levgen, is an Ukrainian tattoo artist who specializes in highly dramatic, realistic tattoos. [1]

Ievgen Knysh was born in the Kupiansk, Ukraine in 1986 and began tattooing in 2007. Levgen's background includes finishing National Medical University in Kharkiv before working as surgeon dentist. In 2007 he began a parallel life tattooing and made the complete switch to the arts in 2012. In 2012 Levgen and his friend opened own tattoo shop in Kharkiv, Ukraine and managed that it all by themself. And in the same year Levgen took a part of the tattoo festival Tattoo Collection in Kiev, Ukraine, where he got his firsts two awards in two categories "small tattoo" and "cover-up". A few years later he visited few tattoo shops in Poland and Germany as a guest. Few months after some of his friends invited him to Wrocław, Poland to join them in their new studio Redberry tattoo and since July 2014 he worked as a resident there.[2] In 2014 the most famous Polish tattoo magazine "Tattoo Fest" wrote an article about Levgen.[3] During next 2 years he visited a lot of tattoo conventions around the Europe like Tattoo expo in Zwickau, Mondial du Tatuage in Paris, Tattoo Fest in Krakow and more, about that you can read in booth Tattoo life and Tattoo Fest magazines.
In 2016 he changed the shop and moved to Voice of Ink tattoo studio in the same city. [4] During that year he did few tattoos what got over 1 million viewers and still is 4th as the most viewed on one of the most famous tattoo portal "Tattoodo", later they wrote an article "Jaw-Dropping Realistic tattoos by Levgen". [5] In late 2016 Levgen and one of the most popular tattoo company Eternal Ink created "Levgen Signed Ink Set". As Eternal Ink wrote on a web site: "For his signature series, he gathered together 12 foundation colors used to produce stunning and color-saturated level of realism in tattoo art". [6] You can buy the "Levgen Signed Ink Set" from different tattoo supplies around the world like UK [7], Norway [8], Portugal [9], Germany [10], USA [11] and others.
In early 2017 FK Irons factory invited him to Miami, to visit a factory and record a short video special for them [12] In middle of the same year he came to Kiev to give a master-class during the tattoo show "Tattoo Collection" and took a part in the contest, where he won "Best of show". In 2018 took a part of 5 days tattoo event "Coalition of tattoo safety" and won "Best of Sunday".
In 2019 his friend Igor and Levgen did a collaboration tattoo at the Empire State tattoo expo. During 2 days Saturday and Sunday they tattooed one client in the same time. The piece of art was based on high fashion brands labels. The tattoo what took over 17hours of tattooing won "the best tattoo of the show [13]
During 2020 Levgen did set of Webinars, special for young artist and artist who would like to improve their skill of tattooing. Even in 2020 he was nominated for the best tattoo artist of 2020 by MediazInk [14]
Early 2021 Levgen moved to New York City as a resident tattoo artist in L.O.V.E. Machine tattoo shop.
