Igniyte Limited is an Online Reputation Management and Digital Marketing company headquartered in Leeds, United Kingdom. The company works with individuals and business clients around the world providing brand reputation services, Internet profile consultancy, online privacy and image management services to improve and enhance how information is displayed online across search engines, social media and online reviews.

Company History[edit]

Launched in 2009 by Simon Wadsworth, the firm’s founder and managing partner, Igniyte was established as a digital marketing agency but expanded into reputation management within its first 18 months of business. Its primary service is now to create and boost the appearance of positive and neutral content for both companies and individuals online.[1]

As of 2013, the company handles 35 separate clients range from CEOs, celebrities and FTSE100 firms[2] and operates out of joint offices in Leeds and London, turning over more than £1m annually.[3] As of 2016, the company reported it was developing an online platform for evaluating and scoring the reputations of individuals and brands through an impartial index system.[4]

Expansion[edit]

Since 2013, reputation management accounts for 95 per cent of the firm’s business.[5] Rapid growth led to the business led to Igniyte being award a £20,000 loan by regional business investment group Finance Yorkshire in May of 2014 to reinvest into the company’s continued development and growth plans.[6]

Notable Work[edit]

The company has worked extensively with individual Internet users regarding the European Court of Justice’s ruling to offer the “right to be forgotten”. Commenting in 2014 to The Independent, Wadsworth noted the company’s work in this area surged as a result of increased public scrutiny and interest in protecting those whose privacy was breached online in the wake of the celebrity photo hacking scandal.[7] As a result, Igniyte reported a 50 per cent rise in new business enquiries as the EU court’s ruling heavily popularised the concept of removing unwanted private information from Google search.[8]

Acknowledging it works with both individuals and larger brands, Igniyte works with celebrities. The business’s work with MMA fighter Alex Reid in 2016 was recorded and broadcast on Channel 5’s sister channel 5Star and evaluated all the steps TV personalities can take to review and transform their online reputations.[9]
