Igor Yurievich Khonin (Russian: Игорь Юрьевич Хонин; born 26 March 1985) is a Russian hairstylist and Wella Professionals ambassador.

Bio[edit]

He was born in Shuya, Ivanovo Oblast. His parents are Yury, a lawyer, and Inna, a businesswoman. Igor graduated from Moscow Pedagogic College of Design and Technology in 2005[1] and from Ivanovo State University in 2010 (Accounting and Auditing), but already after his school graduation he chose the career of hairstylist.

Igor's main education took place in one of well-known hair academies of the world, Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles. He learned there the art of hairstyling and began his working in 2003, earning the experience as a member of the international team in Toni & Guy salon, Moscow. Besides this, he was the finalist of One Shot, the biggest American hairdesser community. At the current moment Igor owns a beauty salon in Moscow and is the ambassador of Wella Professional and Brae haircare brands;[2] also he was the Schwarzkopf Professional ambassador and VIP Hair Awards 2019 jury member.[3]

As a hairstylist, Igor Khonin is the leading Russian expert in balayage ombre.[4] Such experts as Romeu Felipe from Brazil and Hollywood hairstylist Guy Tang are among those people who taught him the skills of hairstyling.[5] At the current moment he is arranging different marathones, meetups and seminars for beginners and experts in hairstyling in Moscow.[6]
