Igor Opeshansky (a.k.a. Vitruvian Physique) (born May 30, 1991) is a bodybuilder sponsored by Alphalete Athletics[1] (First male in the back from the left side, covering the letter "H"). Alongside his bodybuilding career he also actively runs his YouTube channel VitruvianPhysique[2] which was initially created back in 2014 (with it being more active since the Summer of 2015). He is a semi-regular bodybuilding & power-lifting competitor.
Biography[edit]
Igor has a BSc with a double major in Human Physiology and Economics from the University of Western Ontario[3] in Canada. He has worked 2 years in the financial district in downtown Toronto after graduating back in 2014. His "non-fitness" interests include American politics, science documentaries, and Japanese animated series (a.k.a. anime). He had been pretty into sports during adolescence (high school basketball, rugby, track) and played competitive volleyball outside of school with a team which went to the Jr. Olympics. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 4 and lived in and around Toronto his entire life.
Personal life[edit]
Igor started training in the gym at an age of 14 years old, but even before that he had been doing light workouts at home using bodyweight exercises at an even younger age. Alongside the calisthenics, he used to do P90X in his basement with a single set of adjustable dumbbells with an addition of pull-ups using an I-beam in the ceiling.
His training was a mix of CrossFit and "bro-style" bodybuilding[4] throughout high school with an emphasis on chest, arms, whey protein, and chicken breast.
His training and nutrition vastly improved as he attending University at the age of 19. This improvement partially came from his ability to better control his own nutrition and training regiment. First squat/deadlift he ever performed was when he was 19. This resulted in the most noticeable and/or drastic improvement to his physique. Most likely because he had finally at this age begun to research and actually understand proper nutritional/training protocols. Igor has previously stated: "I really believe that had I trained/eaten properly, the first 4-5 years worth of physical development could have been achieved in ~6 months."
Weight progression[edit]
Graduated high school at 160 lbs (72.6 kg).
Finished 1st year of university at 170 lbs (77 kg).
Finished 2nd year of university at 185 lbs (84 kg).
Finished 4th year of university at 205 lbs (93 kg).
