Ilam University is a public university under the supervision of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran. It is located in the city of Ilam and is the most prominent university in the Ilam province. [1] [2] [3]
History[edit]
Ilam Animal Husbandry Institute was established in 1976. After the Iranian Cultural Revolution, this training center was renamed to College of Agriculture. Finally in 1992 it was renamed to Ilam University.[4]

Ilam University is comprised of seven faculties at the moment: [5]
- Faculty of Literature and Humanities
- Faculty of Islamic Studies and Theology
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Para-veterinary
- Faculty of Sciences
- Faculty of Agriculture
- Faculty of Oil and Gas
Enrollment[edit]
Ilam university, as the main university in the Ilam province is a "publicly-funded university" and as a result it offers free education to select students. To be admitted in this university, a candidate is expected to sit through the national Iranian University Entrance Exam and achieve an appropriate rank. The university offers programs at bachelors, masters, and Phd levels.
Campus[edit]
Ilam university is located on the northern hillsides of the Ilam city. Ilam university facilitates physical activity of staff and students by providing two football fields, a swimming pool, and a gym room in all the dormitories.
