Ilja Gort

Ilja Gort (born 5 January 1951) is a Dutch wine entrepreneur, writer, and television personality.
Gort was born in Amersfoort and until 2000 was a successful composer of tunes for television commercials, including a tune for Nescafé that was used worldwide.[1] In 1994, he bought an estate in Saint-Romain-la-Virvée with 15 hectares of vineyards which he later expanded to 35 hectares.[2]
Gort has presented several television programs about French wine and food and Italian cuisine. As a writer, he has written books about wine and food, novels, and children's books.[3]
