Ilona Bugaeva[lower-alpha 1] (born February 7, 1999)[1] is a Russian model and make-up artist based in the city of Saint Petersburg.[2] Best known under the alias of Sladkoslava,[lower-alpha 2][3] Bugaeva has received significant attention for her cosplays of video game characters,[4] as well as for her "chameleon-like" ability to change appearance through her modeling.[5][6]
As of October 2020, she has 430,000 followers on Instagram.[7]
Biography
Bugaeva's interest in modeling began in 2014 after attending a festival surrounding the subject matter with friends.[7] Her first cosplay was as Elizabeth from the video game Bioshock: Infinite. She has since repeatedly modeled as her. Other notable characters she has cosplayed as include Hermione, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Khaleesi, and 2B.[7]
She graduated from Saint Petersburg State University with a degree in psychology.[7] Bugaeva has been sponsored by NYX Professional Makeup, Wig Is Fashion, and Everyday Wigs.[1] She has been a leading figure at various cosplay festivals.[7]
In 2021, Cosmopolitan Russia[lower-alpha 3] labeled her one of the ten most attractive cosplayers in the Russian Federation.[9]
Personal life
Her native language is Russian; she is also fluent in English.[1]
A self-described lover of fantasy, she has expressed a liking for Game of Thrones, BioShock, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Witcher. In musical taste, Bugaeva has stated that she is a fan of rock and roll.[1][10]
