Imad Zakaria Jomaa (Arabic: عماد ز. جمعة ‎; born 19 November 1978) is a Lebanese businessman, and entrepreneur who is also the founder and CEO of JGroup, a multinational holding group existing in more than 35 Countries.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Imad Jomaa was born in Saida, in the south of Lebanon on the 19th of November 1978. He was the child of Zakaria Jomaa, General at the Lebanese Army, and Juliette Toufaily a school teacher. Imad began school at the Rafik Al Hariri International School in Saida, which he graduated in 1995. Upon graduating high school, Imad moved to Beirut to continue his studies at the American University of Beirut, where he studied for a BS in Chemistry, a BA in Economics, as well as an MA in Financial Economics. He Graduated from AUB in 2001 as valedictorian.

After graduating university, Imad went on to found his first company, Promofix, which delivered below the line activities, promotional items, and corporate events. One of his first major clients was Unilever.

later on, he founded his first advertising company Promomedia. Promomedia started as two billboards on the iconic Bliss Street in Beirut, which runs along with the upper gates of the American University of Beirut.[2]

In 2004, Imad Jomaa founded JGroup, a holding company managing all of his business ventures. Both Promofix and Promomedia became part of JGroup, as well as Al Media, Hawacom TV, ABS, Digital Venture, Ekaruna, PromoProperties, Promedica, SportsVille, JCC (Jomaa Contracting Company), Al Bekaa Lel Mokawalat, Jawharat Beirut, Assada Production, Promofoods, Cedarman Art and Promochem[3][4]

Imad Jomaa is also an investor at Properties in New York City; a tower on White Street,Tribeca, and one on 71 Park Avenue.

Currently, Imad Jomaa Serves as the president of Imad Jomaa Organization and also serves as the president of JGROUP Holding.[5]

JGroup holding consists of businesses operating in different sectors such as Real Estate, Pharmaceutical, Publishing, Sports, Contracting, Distribution, and Media. The holding operates in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Jomaa also owns shares in Shazam and Fame FM.[6]
