Impact India were professional wrestling special event episodes of Impact Wrestling produced by Impact Wrestling in conjunction with Grey Matter Entertainment and Sony SIX. Filming of the episodes took place on May 30–31, 2017, at Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai, India.[1][2] The tapings marked the first time an American wrestling company produced their flagship television program in India.[3][4]
Background[edit]
In July 2013, Impact Wrestling (then known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), signed a television deal with India's Sony SIX to air their flagship program across India. In October of 2015, TNA announced a proposed tour of India in accordance with their contractual obligations to Sony SIX,[5] however due to logistacal issues of safety traveling aboard led to the tour being cancelled and postponed.[6]
On March 13, 2017, Impact Wrestling announced they would be filming four weeks of television from Mumbai, India, making them the first American wrestling company to do so.[7]
