InBody Co., Ltd (Hangul: 인바디) is a manufacturer of a range of healthcare equipment and devices, including body composition analyzers, and body water analyzers from South Korea.[1]

It produces the world’s first body composition analysis device that uses an eight-point tactile electrode method by bioelectrical impedance analysis. In Korea and Japan, the name InBody serves as a proper noun for measuring body composition.[2] It is listed on KOSDAQ and its headquarters are located in Gangnam, the center of Seoul. It has manufacturing factories in Cheonan, South Korea.

It provides products and services to 109 countries around the world and continues to grow with an average annual growth rate of over 20%. InBody products account for 80% of the US body composition analyzer market, and sports industries such as baseball and basketball teams also occupy about two-thirds. InBody was published as a body composition analysis method in an American university textbook[3]

US marine Corps

The US Marine Corps has partnered with health technology company InBody to supply body composition analyzer devices for its personnel. The partnership will provide more than 250 InBody 770 analyzers.[5][6]

Orangetheory Fitness

Orangetheory Fitness which is an American premium fitness studio franchise went into partnership with InBody.[7]

Dr. Cha established the company in 1996 under the name Biospace. In 1998, the first machine that provides information on body composition called InBody was born. After the InBody machine got famed, the company changed its name to InBody from Biospace in 2014.[8][9] In 2000, InBody established its first overseas subsidiary in the United States.[10]
