InMoment is an American experience management company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, founded in 2002 by John Sperry, Kurt Williams, and Richard Hanks as Mindshare Technologies. InMoment has offices in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and China.

Overview[edit]

InMoment offers Customer Experience Management (CEM) and Employee Experience Management (Employee Engagement) software for industries in the automotive, contact center, B2B, financial services, food services, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, retail, telecom, travel, and utility industries, among others.

InMoment offers a software-as-a-solution (SAAS), cloud-native platform for experience management, along with extensive data science expertise from its acquisition of MaritzCX.[1]

History[edit]

InMoment was founded in 2002 by John Sperry, Kurt Williams, and Richard Hanks under the name Mindshare Technologies. The company focused on developing technology that allowed clients to automate and analyze their customer service workflow. In 2011, Mindshare Technologies received a $20 million investment from Sorenson Capital.[2]

In September 2013, Mindshare Technologies acquired Empathica for an undisclosed amount.[3]

In June 2014, the company underwent a rebrand and changed its name to InMoment. InMoment welcomed Andrew Joiner as its CEO in 2017.

In 2019, InMoment received a strategic growth investment from Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC (“MDP”),[4] a private equity firm based in Chicago. MDP acquired a majority ownership position in InMoment from existing shareholders.[5]

In 2020, InMoment merged with MaritzCX,[6] a customer experience (CX) and market research[7][8] company providing real-time consumer data analysis.[9][10] In 2021, InMoment acquired Wootric,[11][12] a digital feedback company.

In 2021, InMoment was included on the 2021 Women Tech Council Shatter List.[13]

In 2020, InMoment earned a “Leader” designation in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Voice of Customer,[14] a leader designation in Forrester’s Employee Experience for Enterprise Wave,[15] and a leader designation in Forrester’s Customer Feedback Management Wave.[16]

Additionally, in 2020, InMoment made the list of Forbes Best Employers for Women,[17] was named to the Forbes Cloud 100 list,[18] and its XI Platform was named the TMC Innovation Award Winner,[19] among other recognitions.[20] That year, InMoment also achieved a top ranking in G2’s Experience Management category.[21]
