The Independent-Green Party US is a political action committee (PAC) in the United States attempting to qualify for recognition as a political party from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).[1] Following the removal of the Alaska Green Party[2] and Georgia Green Party[3] from the national Green Party of the United States, as well as the secession of the Rhode Island Green Party, the Independent-Green Party US proposes itself as an option to begin the third US Green Party to ever exist, following the disbanded Greens/Green Party USA and the Green Party of the United States. Notable people who support and are a part of the Independent-Green Party US organization include 2008 Green Party US presidential nominee and former US Representative Cynthia McKinney.[4] The Independent Greens of Virginia are their first namesake state affiliate to gain ballot access in the United States.[5]
