Indian Art Ideas
Indian Art Ideas (IAI) is an online art gallery promoting contemporary and modern Indian art created by Indian artists and artisans. IAI was founded in the year 2007 by Shilpi Agarwal, a manager with HCL who left her job to pursue her interest and passion of promoting and popularizing Indian art globally.[1]
IAI provides opportunities to established and young artists to promote and sell their artwork to buyers globally through its virtual art gallery. The online marketplace is instrumental in reducing the dependency of artists on traditional art galleries to promote and sell their work, which brings in transparency and provides the much needed independence required by artists to pursue their craft. IAI is responsible to provide talented upcoming artists with the required support to participate and showcase their work at leading art exhibitions in India and abroad.[2]
The online gallery of IAI showcases works of more than 1000 Indian artists and artisans. Some of the prominent artists featured in its collection include Laxman Aelay, Sanatan Dinda, Ananta Mandal, Rabin Mondal, Rupesh Patric and Sekar Ayyanthole amongst others. Its library features the finest collection of acrylic, oil, watercolor and mixed media paintings across various categories.[3]
The gallery has various sections for interest of art lovers including live chat, dedicated art blog, art forum etc. and brings out an upclose and personal view of the artists to its visitors by publishing artist interviews, infographics, videos etc. With its “Customised art” and “Complimentary art advisory” feature to individuals, architects, hotels and interior designers the gallery aims to spread Indian art to all corners of the world.[4]
