Indian Summer is an electronic music project of Australian record producer, DJ, songwriter and radio personality Gabe Gleeson (born 12 December, 1990); it was previously a duo with Chevy Long.[6] He has performed at Splendour In The Grass,[7] Field Day,[8] Falls Festival,[9] Beyond The Valley,[10] and The Plot.[11]

Biography[edit]

2012 saw Indian Summer signed to Australian electronic label Sweat It Out! Music by its late founder DJ Ajax,[12] they embarked on their first Australian tour[13] and were listed among FBi Radio's most played artists the following year.[14] In 2014 they were invited to perform at SXSW,[15] toured the United States[16] and were named as one of MTV Australia's top producers of the year;[17] early supporters included Flume, What So Not, Anna Lunoe, Nina Las Vegas, Shadow Child, The Magician and Yolanda Be Cool.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24]

'Shiner' ft. Ginger & The Ghost hit #1 on the Hype Machine chart;[25] its recording and film clip were respectively added to rotation on triple j,[26] Foxtel's Channel V[27] and along with 'Loveweights' ft. Shaqdi,[28] The ABC's 'Rage' program.[29] The act has been the subject of multiple features on triple j[30] including two hour long Mix Up segments[31][32] and its works have attracted unofficial video remixes from fans.[33][34][35]

Gleeson played in bands throughout high school, he studied design at university before leaving to focus on the project.[36] He was the editor of influential Australian niche music website Purple Sneakers between 2012 and 2015,[37][38] hosted its corresponding two hour weekly radio program[39] and has spoken on industry panels at EMC[40] and BigSound.[41]
