The IndieFEST Film Awards is an international competition for independent film, television, and new media.[1][2][3] It is based in La Jolla, California, United States, and is recognized as an IMDb-qualified event.[4][5] The competition accepts entries from different countries[6][7][8] and presents awards in various categories on both a monthly and annual basis[9][10][11] including the Humanitarian[12] Award, awarded to films addressing social issues.[13][14]
History
The IndieFEST Film Awards is an online competition film festival founded in 2008[15] by Rick Prickett[16] in La Jolla, California, United States.[17] It was created following the structure of the Accolade Global Film Competition, established in 2003, but functions as an independent event.[18]
This festival presents monthly awards in several categories, including Best of Show,[2] Award of Excellence,[19] Award of Merit,[20] Award of Recognition,[21] and the Annual Humanitarian Award, which is presented to films addressing social issues.[22] It also accepts entries in categories such as fiction, documentary, animation, music, and new media.[23][24][25][26]
