"Insane" ([비밀; Bimil] error: {{lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a song by South Korean boy band BtoB. It was released digitally in March 21, 2012 as their debut single.[1] The song is also lead single of the group's debut mini album Born to Beat, released two weeks after, in April 3, 2012.[2]
Background[edit]
In March 14, Cube Entertainment announced that they will be debuting a new 7-member boyband, called 'BtoB'. On the same day, a website for the group was released, with a teaser video of the group.[3] On the same day, Cube announced that the group will be the first artist or group signed on the sub-label Cube DC.[4] In March 19, it was revealed the group members, consisting in Seo Eunkwang, leader of the group, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Lim Hyunsik, Shin Peniel, Jung Ilhoon and Yook Sungjae. Eunkwang, Hyunsik, Minhyuk and Ilhoon were already known for participating in the JTBC's sitcom I Live in Cheongdamdong.[5]
Composition[edit]
The song was written by Seo Yong-bae and Seo Jae-woo, who also composed the song, as well the members Lee Minhyuk and Jung Ilhoon. "Imagine" was written and composed by Seo Yong-bae and Seo Jae-woo.
Music video[edit]
The full version of the music video was released in March 21, along with the digital release of the song. It features Apink member Park Cho-rong as the lead female.
Promotions[edit]
The group made its official TV debut in March 22, 2012, performing on Mnet's music show M! Countdown. The song was also promoted on the shows Music Bank, Show! Music Core[6] and Inkigayo. The song "Imagine" was performed in the first week of performances.[7] The promotions of "Insane" ended in April 29, on SBS' Inkigayo.[8]

Chart performance[edit]
"Insane" debuted at number 96 in Gaon's weekly singles chart. In the following week the song climbed one position. The song charted two weeks at the Top 100 of Gaon's singles chart. The song also charted at Billboard's Korea K-Pop Hot 100, peaking at number 76.
