Instarz, LLC

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Instarz, LLC is a space engineering company based in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Instarz’s main purpose is to create awareness of the space industry among younger generations. Instarz is one of four companies that design, develop, and manufacture self-sustainable space habitats and space technologies. [1] The company’s current vision is to make living in space accessible for everyone.

Puerto Rico will soon have a part of space exploration with Instarz, LLC.

The company's main projects include Remnant, a self-sustainable habitat, and a top-secret military project available for commercial use in early 2020.

Remnant was born with the purpose of becoming the foundation of a new home for mankind. It is designed to withstand eight people for a period of 12 months by being a completely self-sustainable habitat. This will be the beginning of expanding our species throughout the solar system and gaining the necessary knowledge to start a civilization on our surrounding planets.

Instarz, LLC was founded by Joshua Castro Pabon in early 2018, who envisioned the company developing self-sustaining civilizations on Earth, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The company’s co-founder, Roberto Rodriguez Otero, joined Joshua's vision in 2018 as well. Now they work countless hours ensuring a brighter future for mankind. Instarz, LLC was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company under the state of Puerto Rico in 2018.

Instarz is well known in the Mayaguez community for its philanthropy. They regularly help out local children’s shelters and homeless people in their extracurricular activities. The company moves forward with donated funds from local investors who believe in the vision Instarz has for the future. The company employs 60–70 interns a year who are eager to take part in the company’s vision. The majority of its interns are undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez campus.

Instarz had the opportunity to be part of the International Space Development Conference [2] as exhibitors in May 2018. To do this, they had to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise around 5,000 dollars. It also served as the perfect opportunity to start creating awareness of what the company is about and what it aims for. The experience of visiting the ISDC helped structure the company and its network within the space industry. The people they connected with have served as advisors for the development of their projects.

The first internship program led by Instarz was in Spring 2018. Students from different majors had the opportunity to apply for internship positions. By working countless hours, learning, and pushing the boundaries of technology, the interns had the chance to evolve in professional and personal areas; they decided to take one of the most ambitious tasks any person can aspire to: choose their legacy. From then on, the company has held three internship programs a year: a summer program, a fall program, and a spring program. They are currently conducting their 5th internship program. Summer 2019 has been the biggest group of interns so far.

In July 2018, Joshua Castro envisioned a program where high school students could have the opportunity to learn about the space industry and its needs. From that idea, the Space Integrative Program[3] was born. This project was aimed at west coast public schools. Over 500 students participated in this program, aimed at creating awareness of the space industry.[4] The goal of this program is to eventually provide free space education to the local community.

In February 2019, Instarz, LLC acquired its first headquarters. Located in the heart of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Instarz believed it to be a good location to develop in the area of entrepreneurship. Puerto Rico’s location is good for space companies due to the incentives in manufacturing, research and development, and real estate for industrial enterprises. The company is currently working to improve its work environment and expand it.
