The Institute for Youth Policy (IYP) is an independent, non-partisan British think tank which seeks to promote the economic interests of young people in the United Kingdom by fostering asset ownership and entrepreneurship.[1]

History[edit]

The Institute for Youth Policy was founded in 2019 by alumni of JPMorgan Chase in response to a number of economic challenges facing young people in the United Kingdom.[2] It works with academics, politicians and members of the public to design and promote policies aimed at improving the economic well-being of this demographic, whilst also encouraging financial literacy and entrepreneurship.[3]

The IYP holds that regulatory reform in five key areas is necessary for young people to be able to achieve widespread financial security and prosperity. These areas relate to debt, household costs, tax, home ownership and the cost of transport. Its policies have been described as economically liberal in nature.[4]

Description[edit]

The think tank is financed exclusively by donations from its supporters.[5]
