The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) at UET Peshawar is a chapter of Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). The ICE Student Chapter at UET Peshawar organizes events and seminars for Civil Engineers at the campus.[1] [2][3] The current president of Peshawar Chapter is Aamir Zia Khan, having been selected since May, 2016. Under the presidency of Khan, ICE has organized several academic events for the current year at the campus. [4] [5][6]

Yearly Events[edit]

ICE UET Peshawar organizes a few common events each year while also adding in new concepts and seminars. A few of ICE UET Peshawar's events include;

1. Bridge Design Competition

2. Final Year Projects poster competition (Civil FYP) [7]

3. Seminars of currently evolving problems [8]


Beginning Years (2010)[edit]

ICE at UET Peshawar was first initiated at the campus in the year 2010 by Dr. Amjad Naseer and one of his students. Dr. Amjad Naseer has since been the advisor of ICE at UET Peshawar. While in the initial years, ICE was not very well recognized at the campus with very few events held.


Middle Period (2012–2015)[edit]

During its middle period between 2012–2015, ICE started to arrange a few events on a medium to small scale.


Years of Prominence (2015–Present)[edit]

ICE became a prominent society at the campus in the year 2015 under the presidency of Sajjad Shah with having arranged a Bridge Design Competition, the first of its kind in Peshawar. The torch was then passed on to Aamir Zia in the year 2016, who, with the help of the members including the vice president "Izaz ul Mulk", the head of documentation "Muhammad Shaoor Khan" and many other members was successful in organizing several events in a calendar year.[9][10][11]

On the 10th of May, 2017 the chapter conducted a three-day Technofest which included a job fair, CPD Point seminar, and a span the bridge and tower building competition. The job fair included delegates from different departments and organizations of Peshawar. The CPD Point seminar was conducted on engineering excellence in Earthquake damage mitigation. The span the bridge and tower building competitions included students from different colleges and universities of Pakistan who were to building the respective models in a given time. [12] [13]
