Intelligent Environments Ltd is a leading[2] British provider of software, based in Kingston upon Thames, London, with additional offices in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They provide front end technology for financial services organisations and their customers, particularly in the credit card and investment markets.

The company's current flagship product is Interact, an omni channel financial services platform.

Corporate Structure[edit]

As of 2012, Intelligent Environments was acquired by a private company and is no longer floated on the stock market.

Intelligent Environments key senior staff members are led by Executive Chairman, David Carman and Managing Director David Webber, alongside a board of both executive and non executive directors.[3]

Products and Services[edit]

Application Manager and NetFinance[edit]

Intelligent Environments was originally best known for producing a client/server development tool called Application Manager (AM) for OS/2 and later for Windows (the Windows version was funded by a loan from Microsoft). AM was widely used by financial institutions worldwide as a client/server development tool for in-house development.

The iteration following on from Application Manager was NetFinance.

Interact[edit]

Intelligent Environments now produces an application, account management, and administration product suite built using Microsoft .NET and C Sharp technology and operates using a single product platform. PCI-DSS Level 1 certification has been obtained for this iteration of the product and client support is provided via a UK based Network Operations Centre, who offer support services including PCI compliance, live production support and hosting operations.

This omni-channel front end software is called Interact.

New releases of the product, both major and minor, are typically made available every 3 months, with system upgrades being made based on the whether the contained functionality has relevance.

The platform integrates into existing online banking systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, call centre databases, workflow and back-office systems. It was built using a responsive web design so can be used across several digital channels such as mobile phones, tablets and PC's.

Initiatives and Innovations[edit]

The Smart Watch Bank[edit]

In November 2013, Intelligent Environments developed technology specifically designed for the Pebble Watch.[4] The company designed and built an application that permits the wearer to receive notifications of their finances through their watch.[5]

ZappTheTab[edit]

Intelligent Environments participated in 2014's ZappHack #ReviveRetail, a hackathon sponsored by mobile payments company Zapp, where several technology companies spent 36 hours attempting to create a new app using Zapp technology.

Intelligent Environments placed second behind Sagepay, after creating an app 'ZappTheTab' which combined iBeacon technology with Zapp to enable a whole restaurant table to order through their mobile devices at the same time, which it said could help solve potentially awkward shared bill payments.[6]

Future Innovations[edit]

Intelligent Environments are looking to create an app for Google Glass based on their own in house technology [7]
