Intelligent Investor is a value investing research publication founded in 1998. The website and weekly printed publication focus on listed companies on the Australian Stock Exchange. The Intelligent Investor's follows the value investing philosophy, and thus it was named with the same name as the Benjamin Graham book, The Intelligent Investor. The publication's tag line is "Value Investing Experts".
History[edit]
In 2009, Intelligent Investor offered 4 weeks access for Free for its registered members. This allowed members to access thousands of research reports on stocks. In addition to this, members were provided with model stock portfolios to aid them in setting up their own. Registered members had an option to go ahead with 3-month trial for $99 that included clear recommendations on ASX shares for three months, investment support, investment advice, pod casts, efficient and quick stock market reporting, stock ideas, access to forums for questions and answers, stock recommendations, and investment workshops. As per the author of ausbusiness.net- ″the price is reasonable and the membership benefits are worth the price″[1]

Cover Story Every issue, the cover story is based on a topic that generally relates to the sharemarket or the economy.
- Stock Reviews
The publication normally covers around seven to eight stocks in detail, plus another 10~12 stocks in brief, although these numbers may vary. Articles in the Stocks in Detail section give a snapshot of the company details, fundamental and share price risk ratings, recommendations, and a 5-year share price chart. Other information may be included in reference to the content of the article. Stocks in Brief feature only a short summary and recommendation. These are common after minor announcements.
- Investor's College
Every publication there is an article that teaches the reader about a specific aspect of the sharemarket. The articles are rated for beginner, intermediate and expert investors.
- Bulletin Board
The Bulletin Board normally follows the Cover Story. It contains a dividend list for stocks reviewed by the publication, Annual General Meeting dates, notices, example portfolio transactions, and recommendation changes.
- Sector Reviews
In most issues, there will be a sector review, in which popular stocks in a particular area would be jointly reviewed. These can be up to 3 pages, or sometimes in a separate special report.
- Portfolio Update
Normally at the end of the publication, this article updates the changes to the hypothetical example portfolios, the Income and Growth portfolios. It normally features once every 4 or 5 issues.
- Ask The Experts
This section answers some of the questions sent in by members.
- Doddsville Blog
The Intelligent Investor analysts now publish their thoughts and opinions on the Doddsville blog.
Wholesale Value Funds[edit]
One of the important part of the business is to provide Wholesale Value Fund invests in a concentrated portfolio of Australian securities and financial products located through comprehensive fundamental analysis. 100% of the Fund has been managed by Intelligent Investors Funds Management since 1 July 2011 and aims to provide positive returns over the long term.[2]
Stocklight App[edit]
In collaboration with Melbourne entrepreneur Jason Kotchoff launched the StockLight startup in May 2013. The StockLight app was chosen by Money Magazine to be featured inside the back cover of their November edition and, based on scores of reviews so far, has user feedback rating it with 4.5 out of 5 stars in the Apple and Google app stores.[3]

Intelligent Investor is one of the main authors for business day section of Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Australian Financial review and other Fairfax owned News websites.[4][5]
Intelligent Investor is a big contributor to Livewire - which is the biggest social media platform designed for Australian Investors.[6]
