Intelligent Life is an upcoming American sci-fi-romance film directed by Rebecca Thomas.

Plot[edit]

A United Nations employee who monitors outer space and makes contact with a beautiful woman who may be an alien.

On June 3, 2012, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly wrote the script The Ambassador, which was acquired by Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf’s Big Beach.^[1] On March 6, 2015, Steven Spielberg was attached to produce the film now entitled Intelligent Life, through DreamWorks with Frank Marshall.^[2] On February 8, 2016, Ava DuVernay was in talks to direct the film,^[3] but she dropped out on May 4, 2016.^[4] On October 4, 2016, Jay Roach was in talks to direct and rewrite the film.^[5] On August 21, 2017, Rebecca Thomas was set to direct the film and add on to Trevorrow and Connolly's script.^[6]

On February 8, 2016, Lupita Nyong'o was cast in the film,^[3] but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.^[5]
