The production of Crescendo! began in 2003 in upstate New York. In Oneonta, the WISF station manager, Walter Rasmussen, requested a 28-minute music television show featuring the organist Mark Andersen that he could air on his station. The result is Crescendo!, which became the 2nd most popular show on the station. In 2006, the musicians moved to Seattle, WA, and Crescendo! began airing on SCAN TV as well. In 2006, Crescendo! was selected to air on TimeWarner Cable in New York City after winning a slot for a Christmas program. TimeWarner Cable has continued to air Crescendo! on its cable access channels all over the United States. In 2011, SCAN TV was shut down by the city of Seattle, and broadcast was moved to Seattle Community Media (SCM) at North Seattle Community College. In 2013, Crescendo! began airing on IETV (In Time Education TV) in Saint Lucia. In 2016, Crescendo! began airing on WNCP TV at the University of North Carolina Pembroke. Many of the episodes of Crescendo! are filmed at Daniels Recital Hall. Crescendo! has now reached the milestone of over 300 episodes.

In 2016, a YouTube podcast from the Crescendo! TV show was selected as number 2 in a Top 10 Video Game Theme Covers by WatchMojo. From Episode 225, "To Zanarkand" arranged by Mark Andersen, featuring Duo English Handbells, was selected for the honor. (See link below in External Links)
