The International Society for Artificial Life (ISAL) is a professional society that facilitates and promotes scientific research related to Artificial life[1]. It organizes an annual conference, gives out annual awards to recognize important accomplishments in the field[2], and facilitates education related to artificial life. ISAL's official journal is (Artificial Life) [3]. ISAL was founded in 2001 in response to a general sentiment among the Artificial Life community that additional organization could benefit the field [4], and is run by an elected board of directors [1].
