The International WingTsun Association (國際詠春總會) is a Wing Tsun martial arts organization. The organization is led by Leung Ting, a WingTsun (Wing Chun) Master and the last "closed door" student of Ip Man when he became training with Ip in 1968, when Ip Man was 75 years old.[1]

Background[edit]

Founded in 1967 by Leung Ting,[2] the martial art organization is headquartered in Hong Kong and had schools in over 60 countries, it had since gained a large following in the western world. There are currently over 2,000 WingTsun schools in Europe, most of them in Germany and its neighbouring countries with over 1,000,000 practitioners worldwide, the organisation is currently one of the largest martial arts organizations in the world.[3] The EWTO (European WingTsun Organization) headquarters is situated in Heidelberg, Germany. The Eastern Europe’s Wing Tsun was established in 1985 with its headquarters at Hungary.
