Iperius Remote is a remote desktop and support computer software developed in Italy.[1] It enables users to access and control their computers remotely for technical support and maintenance or for remote work.[1] The software was launched on September 15, 2016[2] and has seen significant enhancements, notably with an upgrade in 2021.[3] The software is proprietary and requires registration but also offers a free version for non-commercial use.[3] The application is accessible on both Google Play and the Apple Store.[4]

Iperius Remote provides a free version for private users, with limitations such as one simultaneous connection,[1] and restricted access to features like the shared address book and group management.[10] Commercial users pay based on the number of simultaneous connections but Iperius does not limit the number of remote computers or mobile devices they can use.[10]
Security[edit]
Iperius Remote ensures secure connections through Two-Factor Authentication, AES encryption, and TLS 1.3. It features multi-level passwords, detailed connection time statistics,[12][4] automatic screen locks, and operates on ISO 27001-certified server infrastructure to protect against DDoS attacks.[12]
Incidents[edit]
In India, a case of examination fraud was uncovered involving the use of Iperius Remote, orchestrated by two individuals operating a coaching institute and facilitated by an accomplice with technical expertise.[14][15] The group developed software that was capable of masquerading as legitimate operating system files, enabling it to circumvent advanced security measures employed by examination authorities.[14][15] Prior to the detection of this fraudulent scheme, it is reported that over 200 individuals successfully employed the services provided by this group to pass various online competitive examinations.[14][15]
