Iqua(Chinese: 艾克亚[2])[3][4][5][6][7] is a Finnish private manufacturer of mobile communication wireless accessories,[8][9][10][11][12][13] founded in 2004, based in Espoo, and attached to SAVOX Communications Oy AB, who specializes in Bluetooth products,hands free headsets,and other wireless accessories of mobile communications.[14][15][16]
The company serves customers ranging from athletes to business executives in Finland and internationally,[17]and is known for Iqua SUN,[18]what's more,the product of the company,Iqua BHS-603 SUN,was treated as "the worlds first solar-powered Bluetooth headset".[19][20][21][22][23]
History[edit]
In 2004, Iqua was co-founded by Jukka Honkanen and Juha Reima in Finland.[24]
In 2006, Iqua dipped its toe in the American market, when it brought a line of Bluetooth accessories to International Consumer Electronics Show.[25]
In 2007, Iqua formally launched a subsidiary, Iqua USA to market its products in the United States. Its first product was solar-charging Bluetooth headset, the Iqua Sun.[25]
In 2008, Iqua's mobile phone accessory products formally entered the Indian market.[26][27]
On 14 October 2009, Savox Communications Oy AB purchased Iqua from Eqvitec Partners Oy, Finnish Industry Investment Limited, and Viking Venture. Since then, Iqua belongs to Savox Group.[1][3][28]
