Irakli Grigolis Dze Bagrationi (Georgian: ირაკლი გრიგოლის ძე ბაგრატიონი) (1925–2013) was a Georgian prince, descending from the royal Bagrationi dynasty of Imereti. [1][2] Head of the Imeretian Bagrations in Georgia from 1937 after his father was killed by Bolsheviks.[3]
He was the son of Grigol Bagrationi, and a direct descendant of King Alexander V of Imereti.
After the death of the head of the House of Bagrationi, Imereti Hereditary Prince Constantine (1898–1978), the headship of the House of Bagrationi-Imereti transmitted to Prince Irakli Bagrationi (1925–2013).
Irakli married Zinaida Maskharashvili (born 1926) and they have 3 children:
- Nargiz Bagrationi (born 1946)
- David Bagrationi
- Maia Bagrationi (born 1953)
Irakli, aged 87, died in 2013.[4]
He is buried in village of Ghvankiti, Terjola Municipality.
