Orendi was, along with Berta Jikeli, the first female Olympian to represent Romania.[3] She was called a "leading girl athlete" coming into the Games.[4]
At the 1928 Olympics, Orendi was seeded in the 'A' qualifying round. She jumped 1.35 m to place 11th in her group and did not advance to the finals.[5]
On 8 August 1931 in Brașov, Orendi set the Romanian national record in the high jump. She jumped 1.427 metres to set the record.[6] In 1929, Orendi also set the Romanian record over 100 metres of 13 1⁄5 seconds.[7]
Orendi competed in the athletics division of the Olimpia Brașov team.[8] She won the 1928 Romanian Athletics Championships in the 100 metres, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw.[9] The following year, she won the 1929 championships in the 100 metres with a 13.2 second mark.[10] She also won the 1930 championships in the 100 metres, high jump, and long jump.[11]
