Irma Neelima Khan (born 16 March 2002) is a Swiss Bangladeshi author, young politician and content creator. She made her political debut in 2023 when she was selected as a member of young politics at Conseil du Futur U24, part of Pro Futuris and partnered with UNESCO, UNICEF and Société suisse d'utilité publique.
Early life
Irma Neelima Khan was born on 16 March 2002 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland to a Bangladeshi family. She was born and raised in Switzerland. In school, she was promoted to the Maturity section and then attended college to study Economics and Law. After earning her Matura certificate, she studied Bachelor of Law at Neuchâtel University.
Neelima has started blogging and has quickly grown her Instagram following to over 12k. [1]
Political era
In 2023, Neelima embarked on her political journey by making her debut as a member of the young politics community at Conseil du Futur U24. This prestigious platform, sponsored by reputable organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, and SSUP, aims to empower and amplify the voices of young leaders who are passionate about shaping the future. Neelima's selection as a member of Conseil du Futur U24 is a testament to her dedication and vision for driving positive change. [2]
Author era
In 2022, NKI BOOKS announced that Neelima's novels would be edited and scheduled to be launched at the end of 2023. More than four novels with different genres will be released each month from September.
Neelima has shared her personal experience of struggling to find a variety of English Bangladeshi books when she wanted to make a purchase. She recognized a pressing need for representation and inclusivity within the literary realm. This lack of representation became a turning point for her, inspiring her to invest her time in writing and to inspire both new and old generations. She has expressed that "As a Bangladeshi writer, every book I hold is a portal to my roots, connecting me to the essence of my identity and inviting readers to the vibrant streets of Bangladesh, immersing them in the sights, sounds, and flavors of our homeland."
