Israel Shelanu
Israel Shelanu (Hebrew: ישראל שלנו, romanized: Israel Shelanu, lit. 'Our Israel') is a slate that was founded in 2019 and sought to represent, for the first time,[1][2] Israeli Americans in the 38th World Zionist Congress. The World Zionist Congress is the only elected Jewish institution in which Jews who live outside of Israel can participate[3]. With an estimated annual budget of one billion dollars[4], its primary goal is to allocate resources to Israeli[5] and Jewish causes[6] as well as to serve as an official communicating channel to the Israeli government.
The group was founded[7][8] by the two Israeli-Americans, Shanie Korabelnik[9], and Kobi Cohen, and is the sole slate led by an Israeli-American female[10]. The slate aims to represent pluralist Israeli emigrants who reside in the United States and focus on the secular identity, culture, and needs of the Hebrew speaking community[11].
