Hosts bid[edit]

On 8 September 2016 Israel announced it submitted its paperwork to host the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.[1]

1954 FIBA World Championship[edit]

The 1954 FIBA World Championship was the second such competition, and Israel was one of twelve teams to compete.[2][3] Israel finished in 8th place overall.

1986 FIBA World Championship[edit]

The 1986 FIBA World Championship was the 10th such competition.[4] It consisted of 24 teams,[5] of which Israel finished in 7th place overall.[6]
