"It's Just the Way" is a song written by Maurice Gibb, released on the Bee Gees' 1971 LP Trafalgar.[1]
"It's Just the Way" was recorded in April 7, 1971 with the Barry Gibb compositions, "Israel" and "Don't Wanna Live Inside Myself", and Robin Gibb's 1970 composition, "Engines, Aeroplanes". Also in that day, the title track was finished.[2] The song is about the singer's friend, and he tells his friend that just the way his feel tomorrow, and he is sad and alone, and the singer can't believe that saying by his friend, and the singer tells his friend that You don't love me anymore, goodbye. The singer tells his friend that his feeling about tomorrow, knowing his friend won't be there by his side, the singer wish that he could say to his friend, and the singer asks, can we be just good friends?.[3]
It was the only song in the finished album with any sort of instrumental break. Alan Kendall's guitar solo was featured on the instrumental break. This track was an interesting amalgam of various ideas seemingly borrowed from other sources, guitar arpeggios from Abbey Road, chord changes from "Pictures of Matchstick Men", but given a pleasingly moody quality courtesy of Maurice's all too rarely heard voice.[4]
