Ivan-John du Preez (born 23 June 1994) is a South African professional rugby union player for the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] in the Currie Cup.[1] He can play as a loose forward or a winger.
Career
Youth
Du Preez represented the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] at the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week in 2010 and for the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] side during the 2012 Under-19 Provincial Championship season.
Du Preez joined the Stellenbosch Rugby Academy in 2013 and was also a member of the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] side that competed at the 2013 World Club 7s.[2]
During the 2014 Varsity Cup Young Guns competition, he started all three matches for the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]], playing at wing[3] and centre.[4][5]
Senior career
Du Preez was called up into the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] squad for the 2014 Vodacom Cup competition[6] and was included on the bench for their first match of the competition against Kenyan representative side [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]]. He came on as a half-time replacement to make his first class debut for the team.[7] He was promoted to the starting line-up for their next match against near-neighbours the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] in Grahamstown[8] and marked his first start by scoring a 72nd minute try to help the Kings to a 60–6 victory.[9][10] He also scored a try in their match against the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]].[11]
