Background[edit]
Iyana Roxonie Verduzco was born in San Fernando California. She was born to Roman Verduzco and Gloria Alvarado. She is the youngest of four children. She has three siblings; Roman Verduzco Jr., Alex Verduzco, & Nocera Trujillo. Verduzco was raised by her single mother. Her mother Alvarado, is a boxing coach to professional boxers. Alvarado is known as Coach Gee in the boxing community. Alvarado is the niece to Benny Urquidez known as Benny the Jet Urquidez and Lily Urquidez. When Verduzco was four years old, she was inspired by watching the punching bag being hit millions of times, that it was her turn to hit the bag. When she first hit the bag, she felt a light turned on in her. She felt flow for the first time. Verduzco had changed her dynamic of the gym and continued to train. By Verduzco's eighth birthday the only thing she asked her mother for was a boxing book. The boxing book is what she needed to start her amateur boxing career. From that point on she had never stopped competing in boxing.
Amateur Career[edit]
When Alvarado had began her amateur career many spectators began to call her right hook, because they believed that her right hook was dangerous. Within time she had began to answer to the name, right hook. Eventually, Verduzco had accepted the name that later evolved to Right Hook Roxy. Alvarado had never stopped training Right Hook Roxy. When they are at the gym her mother is no longer mom, it is Coach G. Coach G trains her the same or harder than she does to her professional male boxers. Coach G is known to others as an extremely talented Coach. Coach G has Right Hook Roxy on a fighters schedule seven days a week all year long. At the age of 18 Right Hook Roxy was a 21 time national champion with 106 fights. Out of the 106 fights she had 100 victories and 30 TKO. To friends and family Right Hook Roxy is one of the hardest working athletes. She has been described as a well mannered young women that is transformed into immorality in the ring. Roxy's fans believe that she will change history to be the first female boxer to be in the five top paid professional boxers.
Goals[edit]
Right Hook Roxy is working on going to the Olympics twice in her career. She is inspired to be a top ranked professional boxer. Right Hook Roxy wants to be a role model to children. To show them how hard work pays off. That there is no limit to what you can achieve as long as you put in the work. When Right Hook Roxy is ready to put her gloves down, she wants to invest her money in making a clothing line. Right Hook Roxy has had her future planned since she was a young girl. She plans to be a brand that brings value to all future female boxers.
