Jerry Clark-Juneau (born December 29, 1987), better known by his stage name, J.R.Clark (stylized with no spaces), is a hip hop artist based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.[1]

Early life[edit]

J.R.Clark was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti but grew up in the Virginia area. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Liberty University and master’s degree in politics at Regent University before serving in the United States Army for four years.[2]

Career[edit]

J.R.Clark started his music career as a studio engineer before deciding to become a hip hop artist. As he developed a unique music style, he founded his own record label, Vintage Sound Entertainment. In 2015, Clark released his first album, That Weekend, and in 2016, he followed it up with Late Night Driving. After headlining Shaggfest, in 2018 he released Sunset Symphony, which also features Stalley, Cookin' Soul, and Smoke DZA.[3] In 2019, he released Antique Summer, which also features Fendi P from Jet Life.[4] His music has been described as having a “gritty flow, mixed with dusty beats.”[5]

Personal Life[edit]

J.R.Clark is a classic car enthusiast, and one critic has noted that J.R.Clark’s music can be described as "car music" that’s perfectly suited to listening to while driving.[6] Many of his tracks include references to cars, with lowriders often mentioned.[2]
