J.C. Quinn (November 30, 1940 – February 10, 2004) was an American film and theatre actor. His acting career included stage, television and film television roles.
Career[edit]
Born in Philadelphia, Quinn moved to New York City to study acting. He spent 17 years there, actiing in stage productions, before moving to Hollywood to act in films.[citation needed]
Quinn played Elmo, a gravel-voiced cook in the 1985 movie Vision Quest. The character gives a speechthat inspires Matthew Modine's character, Louden Swain, to pursue his Vision Quest.[citation needed] Quinn's television credits include appearances on Cagney and Lacey, Miami Vice, Quantum Leap, Dawson's Creek and Cheers.[citation needed]
Quinn died in a car crash in Juarez, Mexico on February 10, 2004. He was 63 and had appeared in over 50 feature films.[citation needed]
