J.M. DeBord (born 1970) is an American author of fiction and non-fiction works on dreams amd their interpretation, an audiobook narrator and producer, and the creator of RadOwl’s School for Dream Interpretation and Exploration.

Early life[edit]

J.M. DeBord was born in 1970 in Dayton, Ohio to James and Bonnie DeBord. His father was a musician and engineer, and his mother was an electronics technician and homemaker. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. degree in political science in 1999.

Career[edit]

DeBord began his career working as a reporter and columnist for publications including The News Record in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2007 he published the novel Something Coming: a New Age Thriller while living and working as yoga and Pilates instructor in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. He moved to San Francisco, California in 2010, and to Tucson, Arizona in 2011.

In 2013 DeBord published his second book Dreams 1-2-3: Remember, Interpret, and Live Your Dreams, through Hampton Roads Publishing, and began appearing as a featured guest on media programs.

In 2017 DeBord published his third book The Dream Interpretation Dictionary: Symbols, Signs, and Meanings, through Visible Ink Press, temporarily obtaining #1 Best Seller status in Dreams at Amazon.

That year, DeBord opened an online school for dream interpretation, RadOwl’s School for Dream Interpretation and Exploration. The school claims to offer online courses on how to interpret dreams and discover their meaning and significance.

In 2019 DeBord published his fourth book RadOwl’s Crash Course in Dream Interpretation: How to Interpret Dreams.

That year, DeBord founded RAD Audiobooks, an audiobook narration and production company. He serves as its president.

DeBord appeared as a radio guest on Coast to Coast AM, Jim Harold’s Paranormal Podcast, and was quoted by The Boston Globe.

DeBord’s online nickname “RadOwl” is his reddit.com user name. He joined reddit in 2009, and became lead moderator of r/dreams in 2013. He also moderators r/Jung, r/pastlives, and r/EdgarCayce.
