JP ONE and his brother were both taken into juvenile and foster car homes until they returned to Detroit to live with older siblings. Life in Detroit started strong, but proved to be difficult as JP ONE would land in juvenile twice between a record deal with Motown Records legend, Barrett Strong’s Blarritt Records. After leaving the label for good, JP ONE took to the streets to find his own dreams and would soon catch a case for for Armed Robbery and Home Invasion, which landed him in the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for nine years. Upon his release in 2011, JP ONE started his own label and released consistent music beginning with 2013’s Gifted & Talented, 2015’s Fire & Brimstone, Fire & Brimstone 2[2] and Fire & Brimstone 3[3] then working with Nep Jennings in The EP and Real Motown Music[4] before releasing Atonement[5] in 2017 before he was sentenced to five years in the Federal Bureau of Prisons for a drug conspiracy.
