Johnathan Ramos Capellan (born October 22, 1990) is a Dominican Latin , Reggaeton singer, songwriter, producer. Ramos was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic[1]. At the age six Jhoni's family moved to New York, where he discovered his passion for music while singing for his friends and family. By the age of 11, Jhoni began composing and producing his own original music. Ten years later continuing to work on his craft in 2010, Jhoni left New York to attend Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Full Sail, one of the top 10 schools for Recording Engineers in the world, built on Jhoni's preexisting skills, making him even more of a well-rounded musician. After acquiring a bachelor's degree in Recording Arts, Jhoni embarked on his career as a singer/ songwriter, engineer/producer, but more importantly, as an artist. Jhoni, former one-half of the duo LD & Jhoni, has opened for acts such as Romeo Santos during the "The King Stays King“ tour, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Juanes, and Juan Luis Guerra. Produced by Super Producers A&X, in 2013, Jhoni achieved worldwide recognition for his participation in the song “MAKINA”, an urban song that found its way to the Billboard charts. Jhoni has worked with and has also written for many other artists including Natti Natasha and Nicky Jam.

2015:[edit]
Jhoni debuted his first solo EP self-titled, “Jhoni the Voice,” in February 2015. Since the release of the debut EP, Jhoni has achieved over 100+ million views via SoundCloud, YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.
The first EP “Jhoni The Voice”, came in at number seven after its first week of sales on iTunes Latino Music Chart. In addition, Heroé, a single off of the album, reached number 18 on the New Artist Spotlight on iTunes. Recently Jhoni has worked with feature artists such as Henry Santos, Juan Magan, Kevin Roldan, Poeta Callejero, and Messiah, to name a few.
2015-16:[edit]
After a successful Radio/Media Tour in Colombia 2015, the exposure has taken Jhoni to new places with international performances in Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and the United States (Florida [including Calle Ocho 2015/16], New York, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and North Carolina).
Jhoni has gained traction in the industry and through the eyes of fans with his new singles “Farolito” and “Fragiles.” “Fragiles’” music video is currently being rotated on television channels such as MTV tres and Music Choice. “Fragiles” is the second music video to have been in rotation on MTV tres, which followed the music video “Dime.” In addition to the success of “Fragiles” and “Dime,” Jhoni's music video “El Narrador,” won “Best Original Idea” at the 2016 Video Clip Awards in the Dominican Republic.
In June 2016, Jhoni landed “Heroé” on USA Networks “Queen of the South” television series. Jhoni has had two tracks (“Bonita” and “Reggaeton”) featured on Spotify's biggest Reggaeton Playlist: Baila Reggaeton. In addition to Spotify, Jhoni has made numerous appearances on the iTunes Latino home page being featured in several categories such as “Hot Tracks” and “New Artist Spotlight.” In October 2016, Jhoni was interviewed live on Apple Music's Beats 1, Ebro Darden's Radio Show promoting his latest English single, “Look at You.”
2017- Present:[edit]
In May 2017, Jhoni made his second appearance on Apple Music's Beats 1, Ebro Darden's Radio Show debuting his English Album with his single, “Can’t Get Enough Of You”. Followed by his appearance on Ebro, Jhoni has surfaced on several new Apple and Spotify Curated Playlists such as, Trap Kingz, Pure Fuego, Breaking Latino, and Amore Amore.
In July, Jhoni collaborated with Producer/Artist Duo Breakfast N Vegas alongside King Los for their new Single, “Anywhere Contigo”. With streams growing and Jhoni's fan base rising, we’re eager to watch as Jhoni looks towards the future to continue the growth of his career.
Jhoni is constantly evolving and is now working with some of the top Latin Artists of this decade such as Nicky Jam, De La Ghetto, and Fuego. In early 2019 he releases a self-titled EP “JHONI” and a number of hit singles which are currently streaming up numbers on all the major streaming platforms. Self-made and self- taught, the man is ready to conquer the hearts of those who have yet to hear his voice.
