Jacob Bayer II is an American football center for the Arkansas State Red Wolves. He previously played for the Lamar Cardinals.[1]

Early life and high school[edit]

Bayer is from Grandview, Texas where he played high school football for the Grandview Zebras. He helped the Zebras win back to back state championships in 2018 and 2019.[1][2]

College career[edit]

After high school, Bayer was highly recruited and accepted a football scholarship to Lamar University where he played for two years prior to transferring to Arkansas State University in 2023.[3]

During the 2023 season with Arkansas State, Bayer helped the Red Wolves reach the 2023 Camellia Bowl, where they lost 22-19 to the Northern Illinois Huskies.

According to PFF.com, Bayer is the number two rated center in FBS Football in 2023 which gives him an "A" grade by Pro Football Focus as one of the best centers in the nation.[4] Also during the 2023 season he was placed on the All-Sun Belt team.
